Broken Heroes (8th August 08)

I've spoken to a few people who were at the club on Friday and had their verdict.

Let's hear from the rest of you.

I wasn't there, but I thought they were brilliant based on the last time I saw them. So given previous weeks rants a valid opinion no doubt?

I wasn’t there as well, but I’ve seen them a few years ago on a wet cold winters night in the Pick and Shovel in Treforrest, since it was raining again I thought id stay in and catch up with my ironing.

I was there but while waiting so long for the band to start I ventured downstairs where I discovered a snooker table, I decided to play and what a great table it was, I ended up playing quite a few games on it for the rest of the night but annoyingly I could hear the rumble of the bottom end from the newly acquired Bass Bins thumping through the ceiling and shacking the lights above the snooker table so much on one song I nearly missed an easy black into the middle pocket.

So to sum it all up, if they had played Chas and Dave’s Snooker Loopy it would have made my night, but they didn’t so I have to say i was a bit disappointed about that.

CHAS & DAVE, great stuff - anybody seen them live?... 'Snooker Loopy' is a good song, but it's not up there with either 'In Sickness & In Health' or 'Rabbit'... Were BROKEN HEROES actually any good?:-?:P

Well, with everyones permission: 'Can we move on'.

I was at the the club last friday and watched the great talents of a group called 'ELK Redemption' Very good musicians and an equal singer that played for 90 minutes or so, totally acousically, The band played all sorts of classics from the Ramrods to Black Sabbath and they didn't really want to stop even for half time. A very very talented band to do what they do, although it has to be said that the four acoustic instruments became a bit tedious as time went on. I'm sure with all of that talent they would get more reward doing a 'half and half thing', Acoustic first half and then a bit of valve amp in the second. That doesn't mean mean 'all distortion and wahwahs' but it would help to make some songs sound different to others. I enjoyed the band and would go and see them again

Talking of clay class 'Second cousin of anonymous' my old english teacher said to me "If you can't use punctuation correctly - don't use it at all." i.e. there are no spaces between words and commas.

Am I correct in asuming that 'Anonymous' and 'second cousin of anonymous' are the same person or does 'Anonymous' simply answer to 'second cousin of anonymous's postings. Or do you simply not remember what you called yourself last time!!
